Six Degrees of Separation By: John Guare @ University of Louisville Tickets
Feb 23 @ 7:30 pm

Inspired by a true story, the play follows the trail of a young black con man, Paul, who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple, Ouisa and Flan Kittredge, claiming he knows their son at college. Paul tells them he is the son of actor Sidney Poitier, and that he has just been mugged and all his money is gone. Captivated by Paul’s intelligence and his fascinating conversation (and the possibility of appearing in a new Sidney Poitier movie), the Kittredges invite him to stay overnight. But in the morning they discover him in bed with a young male hustler from the streets, and the picture begins to change. After kicking him out, Ouisa and Flan discover that friends of theirs have had a similar run-in with the brash con artist. Intrigued, they turn detective and piece together the connections that gave Paul access to their lives. Meanwhile, Paul’s cons unexpectedly lead him into darker territory and his lies begin to catch up with him. As the final events of the play unfold Ouisa suddenly finds herself caring for Paul, feeling that he gave them far more than he took and that her once idyllic life was not what it seemed to be.

Afterglow New Mom’s Group 0-6 mos @ Bloom Counseling and Wellness Center Tickets
Feb 26 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am

Afterglow is Louisville and Southern Indiana’s new parent community, where new parents and babies connect, learn, play, share and find support.

Afterglow offers groups and activities for moms or parents to get together and share their experiences in a safe, non-judgmental space.

You’ll find support for:
*Becoming a parent
*Life with a newborn
*Processing your birth experience
*Feeding your baby
*Returning to work
*Stages of development
*Transitioning to toddlerhood
*Parenting more than one child
…..And so much more!
It helps to have people to share the highs and lows, especially other parents in the same stage who will identify with what you’re experiencing. Going to parent-baby support groups can help get you through a rough patch, help you feel less lonely, and even helps you meet new lifelong friends.

These groups are professionally facilitated by Bonnie Logsdon of The Baby’s Voice and Kate Metten of Bluegrass Doulas. Bonnie and Kate bring their experience as doulas, childbirth educator, breastfeeding expert and as mothers to this community and hold space for parents as they share their roses and thorns of new parenthood.

Afterglow events happen 10 times a month! Each Wednesday and Friday, our 0-6 month age group meets from 10-11:30AM and the 6-12 month olds meet from Noon-1:30PM. We offer a Glowing Up playgroup on those days from 10AM-Noon that is available to parents with one toddler or more than one child in tow. These weekday events happen at Bloom Counseling + Wellness Studio located at 6500 Glenridge Park Place, Suite 8, Louisville, 40222.

Looking for a weekend edition of Afterglow? We have that too! Twice each month we meet on a Sunday from 1-3PM at Louisville Family Chiropractic’s new wellness center, located at 7300 New La Grange Road, Louisville, 40222.

Kate and Bonnie offer their professional services including childbirth education, prenatal and postpartum home visits and support for lactation and nutrition, birth and postpartum doula support, and classes including Starting Solids, Back to work and pumping class and more!

Other fun activities through this Afterglow community include mom’s night out events, holiday crafts, parent meet-ups, and more! We have an active and safe online space that is also super valuable to our parents.

The first visit to an Afterglow event is always FREE! Drop-in rates are $10 per visit and we offer an unlimited membership for $60/month. We will offer a punch card for a reduced per visit rate.
